// What it is for

  • CPU, memory, network, disk, and temperature right in the menu bar
  • See a build eating all the RAM without opening Activity Monitor
  • Completely free and open source, no subscriptions or accounts
  • Every module can be enabled and styled separately, down to the graph appearance

// Common questions

Stats or iStat Menus?

Stats is free and covers basic monitoring. iStat Menus is paid but offers finer sensors, history, and well-designed alerts. Start with Stats — for many people it is the permanent answer.

Does the monitor itself load the system?

The overhead is minimal, and the polling interval is configurable: raise it and keep only the modules you need if you want to be strict about it.
